nomadic roots Sauna & Wellness

Our Story

Nomadic Roots Sauna & Wellness was an idea born during a morning plunge in Turkey Creek in our hometown of Red Cliff, CO.  As we walked to our not-so-secret spot up Shrine Pass, we reminisced on our favorite memories of living in Vail -- the incredible mornings snowboarding at Beaver Creek, the first time we took our snowmobiles up Shrine Pass on a powder day, learning to cross country ski at Tennessee Pass... The only thing that could have made those memories better was a better way to warm up afterwards while improving our recovery so we could get back at it again the next day. We figured we couldn't be the only ones who felt that way. So, we created Nomadic Roots Sauna & Wellness to bring warmth and recovery to the people who love winter activities as much as we do, and who want to get outside every day and be at their best.

Stay Toasty, Vail!

about our sauna

Our sauna was handcrafted in British Columbia by Nootka Saunas, and shipped to us to be installed on our trailer. It is designed and constructed to withstand the harshest winter conditions. The barrel is made of sustainably sourced Western Red Cedar, and with a wood-burning stove that can heat the sauna to 150 degrees in about 45 minutes, it will be ready for you by the time you get your gear off and grab your towel.

Our sauna is mounted on a 6.5 ft x 13 ft trailer, and requires a relatively level solid space large enough to park and open the trailer (like a parking space or driveway). Because it is wood-burning, there are no hook-ups needed!
